Cleaning and Re-sealing Instructions

Read completely and carefully before starting

1. Check to make sure you have equal amounts of resin and hardener   (i.e.  1 gallon of resin to 1 gallon of hardener plus 2 quarts of thinner).

2. You will need:

     a)  1  roller pan and 1 roller with a long handle plus 2 medium nap roller jackets.

     b)  Mixing bucket and a flat stick to mix with.

     c)  Wear work cloths and old shoes.

3. Area to be resealed must be clean and free of grease, oil, and foreign matter. To clean area use a 50:50 mix of chlorine and water. Spread mixture generously over area to be cleaned and scrub with a stiff broom or brush. Rinse thoroughly with garden hose. Deck can also be pressure cleaned with up to 3000psi of pressure.

Important:

Let area dry for 24 hours. The area to be sealed must be completely dry before proceeding and there should be no chance of rain for at least 1 hour after completion of application.

4.   To reseal:

       a)  Mix 1/2 gallon of resin with 1/2 gallon of hardener for 3 minutes in mixing bucket. It is very important that three full minutes are used for mixing. Set a timer to be sure. Add 1/2 quart of thinner and mix an additional minute.

       b)  Pour mixed sealer into roller pan and begin applying to deck immediately. Apply with medium nap roller by rolling east-west and north-south.

       c)  Repeat mixing process with remaining 1/2 gallon of resin and 1/2 gallon of hardener plus 1/2 quart of thinner.

 

Working time: 15 to 20 minutes.

Coverage: 2 gallon kit (1 gallon of resin and 1 gallon of hardener) covers approximately 500 square feet.

 

Note:

1.  Any resin, hardener, and thinner that HAS NOT been mixed together can be saved for future use.

2.  Throw away roller jackets when finished.

3.  Wash hands with Lava soap.

4.  Keep off resealed area for 24 hours.

                                     ***WARNING***

1.  Thinner is very FLAMMABLE use extreme care -- NO SMOKING!

2.  Keep away from children.

3.  Other warnings pertaining to each product are on bottle labels.
